sevDesk is a leading provider of online accounting and invoicing software tailored for small businesses, freelancers, and entrepreneurs. Challenge

sevdesk needed to migrate their outdated tech stack in the frontend to ReactJS to meet modern standards and improve maintainability. Relying on manual migration methods resulted in high time and cost, creating a bottleneck that threatened project timelines and return on investment. The client engaged Netlight to optimise the process, ensure product quality, and accelerate delivery.

Solution

Netlight developed a proof-of-concept integrating a Large Language Model into the migration workflow, using previously migrated components and a shared component library as reference. The GenAI solution automated much of the code transformation, enabling consistent output across documentation, test cases, and interface examples. The engineering team concentrated on quality assurance and refined the AI’s results to meet sevdesk’s standards. This human-in-the-loop process accelerated migration velocity and maintained product excellence.
