Enabling future‑proof HR analytics with scalable data products
Netlight partnered with a leading Reinsurance to migrate its Oracle-based HR data warehouse to Palantir Foundry – reengineering data models, automating validation, and consolidating nine HR domains into one trusted platform – cutting reporting from 4 days to 1 hour, reducing platform costs by 80%, and enabling future-proof people analytics and strategic workforce planning

About the client
The client is a Swiss-based global reinsurance company that provides insurance and risk transfer solutions to clients around the world. With a focus on risk management and underwriting expertise, it operates through a network of around 80 offices globally with around 15,000 employees worldwide.
Challenge
As part of a strategic shift, the client sought both to migrate its Oracle-based HR data warehouse to Palantir Foundry and to modernise its HR analytics capabilities. The legacy system supported global reporting on workforce, compensation, recruitment, and organisational planning. Its fragmented, inconsistent data models undermined trust, constrained self-service, and required four days of manual validation each month. Minor enhancements took 3-6 months, creating unsustainable delays that jeopardised strategic workforce planning.
Solution
Netlight led the project from discovery to delivery, aligning with the client's governance standards across operating model, steering committees, risk management, and budgeting. We owned solution architecture, data modelling, and end-to-end development, leveraging our deep Palantir Foundry expertise. Using a unified Spark pipeline, we reengineered all HR modules and built well-tested components for complex logic such as bitemporal historisation. Automated validation and monitoring eliminated manual month-end work. Legacy teams co-developed through a tailored upskilling programme, enabling disruption-free go-lives delivered within tight time and budget constraints.
Impact
- Establishes a flagship example for Palantir Foundry adoption, reducing platform costs by 80%.
- Cuts month-end reporting from 4 days to 1 hour through full automation and improved data quality, while enabling rapid HR self-service.
- Migrates and consolidates nine HR data domains into a single, trusted model, eliminating long-standing data silos.
