trail is a B2B software startup in the AI governance / compliance space, offering a SaaS “copilot” that automates governance, documentation, risk, and audit workflows; it is backed by a ~€1.5 million pre-seed financing round.
Challenge
The startup initially approached Netlight with a very early prototype in a complex user environment that is governance and compliance. The challenge was clear - they wanted to make user-friendliness a core part of their solution and needed to enhance usability, visual aesthetics, scalability and define design hierarchy.
Solution
Netlight tackled this challenge through a well-structured iterative design sprint, emphasizing continuous stakeholder communication and feedback. The process involved distinct stages:
Problem Definition: Collaborative sessions to comprehend pain points and refine project objectives.
Brainstorming: Creative workshops to understand the underlying problem, gather perspectives, and draw inspiration.
Prototyping: Iterative processes involving paper prototyping, wireframing, and creating a Figma prototype.
Testing: Conducting user tests to obtain outsider perspectives and gather UX feedback.
