The client is a highly successful, global subscription streaming service for audio books and e-books on mobile and tablet platforms. The client provides unlimited access to everything from the latest major releases to classics and niche titles and needed to design a market-leading audiobook experience from scratch. We delivered leadership and execution across product management, UX, and development, shaping a long-term vision for sustainable growth.
Within one year, Netlight guided the client from an idea to a live product, reaching paying customers. Today, this service ranks among the highest-rated and most-used audiobook services in the App Store and Google Play.
Within one year, to create this market-leading service from scratch, Netlight and the client followed the following approach: Continuously validated the product with target users. Focus on discovery, concepts, customer journeys, UX/UI design & research. Used data analytics post-launch to guide ongoing product improvements after the MVP was launched.

Elevating Inflight Entertainment: Exceeding passenger expectations by transforming UX

The client needed to launch a cutting-edge In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) System with integrated hardware and software to offer airlines a customizable passenger experience. The client faced a critical, unmovable deadline crucial for the company's survival, they also dealt with significant organizational challenges, including siloed decision-making and a lack of dedicated UX leadership, complicating the project’s timely and successful completion.
With a transformative UX strategy, we managed to cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. We have aligned the team through a unified vision while removing operational barriers. An evidence-based UX design process has been introduced, positioning our client as a leader in the field.
Netlight enhanced the client's strategic work as well as design deliveries by introducing UX leadership as a function. Through strategic UX leadership, we restructured the UX team for increased transparency, collaboration, and quality. Netlight drove the integration of UX designers into cross-functional teams which aligned with company aims. We introduced a career framework provided internal designers with growth opportunities. By introducing UX testing and validation to the client, we built up an evidence-based design approach, directly contributing to the client's product success and as well as design maturity.

The client, a leading optical retailer in Europe, aimed to create innovative, user-centric services and digital offerings for its customers. Their mission is to create an omnichannel experience and blend online and in-store experiences seamlessly.
With Netlight's help, the client established a self-sufficient user research team and lab, facilitating both in-depth studies. The user research lab also fostered an environment for initiating pioneering augmented reality features. This strategic alignment not only furthered the client's digital initiatives but also integrated user-centric insights into agile processes.
Within the project timeline, through a collaborative effort, Netlight and the client created value by: Building up a user research lab and team from scratch and evangelizing user research and UX throughout the company. Establishing a continuous product discovery process to enable data-driven decision-making.
